Beverly W. Garofalo is the Managing Partner of the Hartford office of Jackson Lewis LLP. Ms. Garofalo regularly counsels employers on a wide range of employment issues, including sexual harassment; discrimination; accommodating disabled employees; family and medical leave laws; wage and hour laws; hiring, disciplining and terminating employees; downsizing and reductions-in-force; independent contractor, employment, non-competition and confidentiality agreements; mergers and acquisitions; and outsourcing. She has substantial experience representing employers in court and before administrative agencies. Ms. Garofalo speaks and writes extensively on current labor and employment law issues. She also conducts extensive management training on all topics, including harassment prevention, workplace privacy, effective management, and equal employment opportunity law. In 2009, Ms. Garofalo was recognized by Chambers USA as a Leading Lawyer for Business in the area of Labor and Employment Law (Band 1). In 2009, she also was selected for inclusion in the 2009edition of Best Lawyers in America and was named a Connecticut and New England Super Lawyer. She was also recently recognized by Super Lawyers as one of the 50 leading women attorneys in New England. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Ms. Garofalo was a partner with the Hartford office of Thelen LLP. She graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law, magna cum laude, in 1991 and received her undergraduate degree from The Colorado College.
