Erika Gonçalves is an Associate in the San Francisco, California office of Jackson Lewis LLP. Ms. Gonçalves’ practice is focused on employment litigation on behalf of management as well as advice and counsel on all employment issues.  Ms. Gonçalves is admitted to practice law in California.

Ms. Gonçalves received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Latin American Studies, cum laude, from the University of San Francisco in 2006.  While at USF, Ms. Gonçalves participated in study abroad programs in El Salvador, India, Mexico, and Peru.  In 2005 she was the recipient of the Who’s Who Amongst Colleges and Universities Award for her student leadership activities, and in 2006 the recipient of the University’s Cesar Chavez Award for her community service efforts.

She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, in 2009.  In law school, Ms. Gonçalves was a member of the Civil Justice Individual Representation Clinic, where she assumed the responsibility for an individual case in a wage and hour dispute before the Alameda Superior Court.  During her last year, Ms. Gonçalves also served on the Legal Education and Opportunity Program’s admissions committee, reviewing and recommending applicants for U.C. Hastings’ 2010 incoming class.

Ms. Gonçalves is a member of the San Francisco La Raza Lawyers Association, The California Bar association Labor and Employment Section, the San Francisco Bar Association Barrister’s Club, and the Golden Gate Restaurant Association.  Additionally, she is highly involved with the San Francisco community and currently is a member of the Gateway High School’s Board of Trustees, a San Francisco Charter school.  She enjoys mentoring students and is an advocate for public education.

Ms. Gonçalves was born in São Paulo, Brazil and is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.  She enjoys traveling, cooking traditional Brazilian dishes, and is an avid Salsa dancer.
