Biography

Todd Girshon is a member of the law firm Jackson Lewis LLP. Jackson Lewis is one of the largest law firms in the country engaged exclusively in the practice of workplace law and related litigation on behalf of management. Mr. Girshon is a graduate of Cornell University (B.S., Industrial & Labor Relations, with honors), London School of Economics (General Course) and Emory University School of Law (J.D.). He is a member of the Bars of the States of New York, New Jersey and Georgia. Mr. Girshon is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second, Third and Seventh Circuits and the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, the District of New Jersey and the Northern District of Illinois.

Mr. Girshon has devoted his entire professional career to practicing workplace law at Jackson Lewis. Since joining the firm's New York City office, first as a Summer Associate in 1992 and then as an Associate in 1993, Mr. Girshon has specialized in employment law litigation. In this capacity, he has represented employers in jury trials, appeals and other proceedings before various federal, state and local administrative agencies and courts throughout the country. He has successfully handled a diverse range of individual and class/collective actions alleging discrimination, retaliation, harassment, whistleblower, failure to pay compensation and employee benefits, wrongful termination, breach of contract, tort and other related claims. Mr. Girshon also devotes a substantial portion of his time advising and training clients in connection with the design and implementation of preventive personnel policies and practices.

Mr. Girshon represents a vast array of clients, ranging from entrepreneurs to Fortune 100 companies, on workplace law issues across a wide spectrum of industries, including but not limited to financial services, private equity, transportation, hospitality, retailing, real estate, insurance, manufacturing, health care, professional service firms, non-profit organizations and professional employer organizations. He is also a member of the firm's Disability Management Practice Group. As such, he has monitored developments under the Family & Medical Leave Act of 1993 since its inception. Since 1995, he has served as a Consulting Legal Editor to Business & Legal Report’s FMLA Policy, Practice & Legal Update.
