Jackson Lewis Achieves Gold Standard Certification From The Women In Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF)

NEW YORK, NY (August 8, 2022) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce its certification as a Gold Standard Firm by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) for the 11th consecutive year. The WILEF Gold Standard Certification is awarded to firms who have successfully demonstrated that women represent a meaningful percentage of their equity partners, of their highest leadership positions, of their governance and compensation committees, of their most highly compensated partners and that there be meaningful diversity among their women partners.

“We are thrilled to once again achieve WILEF’s Gold Standard Certification,” said Firm Chair Kevin G. Lauri. “Over the past year, we have taken steps to ensure we have the broadest diversity, including gender, race and ethnicity, and generational, as equity partners and in senior leadership positions. We will continue to build a workplace where women can thrive as a diverse and inclusive firm is at the core of our culture and success.”

To achieve WILEF Gold Standard Certification, law firms with 300 or more practicing attorneys in the U.S. must meet objective criteria concerning the number of women among equity partners, in firm leadership positions and in the ranks of their most highly compensated partners.

Jackson Lewis has been consistently recognized for its diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and its advancement of women attorneys. Over the past year, the firm appointed Kimya S.P. Johnson as chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer (CDEIO) and principal. As CDEIO, Kimya works with firm leadership, key stakeholders, and practice group leaders to expand, manage and oversee firmwide diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and lead a team to execute a comprehensive, strategic DEI plan.

“Jackson Lewis understands the importance of creating measurable improvement for recruiting, retaining and promoting women attorneys,” said Kimya. “We are intentional and committed to doing what it takes to move our leadership, our firm and our profession forward in this vital area. We know that our efforts do not stop here, and I look forward to continuing our work to make further strides.”

Jackson Lewis is a Mansfield Certified Plus firm for having affirmatively considered women, attorneys of color, LGBTQ+ attorneys, and attorneys with disabilities for recruitment, governance roles, equity partner promotions, and inclusion in formal pitches to clients. The firm has also earned a 100 percent score on the most recent Corporate Equality Index, published by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, which measures corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality.
