Jackson Lewis' Gail Golman Holtzman Elected Chair of ABA's Labor and Employment Section

TAMPA, FL (August 8, 2016) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, congratulates Tampa Principal Gail Golman Holtzman on her election as Chair of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Labor and Employment Section.  Ms. Holtzman had been elected Chair-Elect in 2015 and formally became Chair on Saturday, August 6th during the ABA Annual Meeting in San Francisco.

The Labor and Employment Section of the ABA includes approximately 16,000 members representing all constituent groups and diverse perspectives of labor and employment law.

“It is an honor to serve as Chair,” said Ms. Holtzman.  “I have greatly enjoyed my service to the ABA and look forward to a productive and exciting year working with so many outstanding attorneys throughout the country and internationally.”

“It is a tribute to Gail as well as to Jackson Lewis to have one of our Principals play such a significant role at the ABA, an organization dedicated to serving our profession and the public by defending liberty and delivering justice,” added Firm Chairman Vincent A. Cino.  “Gail’s dedication to the ABA and leadership of the Labor and Employment section is a wonderful example of our attorneys’ commitment to eliminating bias in the legal profession.”

Ms. Holtzman has been practicing law for more than 30 years and has substantial experience defending a broad range of federal and state labor and employment claims, complaints and charges, including those alleging discrimination, harassment, retaliation/whistleblower, wage/hour, breach of employment contract claims and claims involving restrictive covenants and business torts.

Ms. Holtzman, who has been elected as a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, also focuses on problem solving and partners with clients to minimize risks through counseling, training, and preparation of policies and agreements. In addition, Ms. Holtzman is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil Mediator and is actively serving as a county court contract mediator and conducting private mediations. Also, she has been selected by her peers, as well as her clients, to conduct workplace investigations.

Ms. Holtzman received her B.A. and M.A. from the University of Illinois and her J.D. from George Washington University Law School, where she was a student clerk for Board Member Zimmerman at the National Labor Relations Board.
