Danny Jarrett is the Managing Partner and Litigation Manager of the Albuquerque, New Mexico office of Jackson Lewis LLP and was named as a Southwest Super Lawyer for 2009, 2010 and 2011. Mr. Jarrett is a New Mexico native and a 1996 graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law where he served as a staff editor of The New Mexico Law Review. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of New Mexico in 1989, where he attended as the recipient of a Presidential Scholarship.
Mr. Jarrett previously served as vice president and corporate counsel for a national healthcare company. His duties included managing all operations of a multi-state company with over 400 employees, overseeing all human resources functions and organizing corporate restructuring.
Mr. Jarrett’s legal practice focuses on counseling and representing employers, government entities and Tribal organizations regarding labor and employment disputes. His experience involves Title VII and Title IX of the Civil Rights Act, the ADA, the FLSA, the FMLA and Davis-Bacon Act wage issues. He has successfully represented clients before the NLRB, the EEOC, and the WCA. He has negotiated many collective bargaining agreements with various unions and has represented management’s interests in union organizational campaigns and in response to unfair labor practice charges. Mr. Jarrett has analyzed unemployment compensation and workers’ compensation issues from both the perspective of litigator and as an employer.

Mr. Jarrett represented the New Mexico State Bar and set national precedent when the National Labor Relations Board in Washington, D.C., ruled that it did not have jurisdiction to oversee a representation election involving State Bar employees.
Mr. Jarrett is a member of several practice committees within the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section, and serves as a contributing editor to national treatises on the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act. He serves on the Executive Board of the Association of Commerce and Industry and also serves as a steering committee member of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Construction Law, Division 6 (workforce management and human resources). He is an elected member of the Board of Bar Commissioners of the State Bar of New Mexico – the group of attorneys, elected by their peers from throughout the State, who govern the Bar. As a Bar Commissioner, Mr. Jarrett serves on the Personnel Committee, the Continuing Legal Education Advisory Committee, and as liaison to the Board of Bar Examiners. Mr. Jarrett also serves as Board Secretary for the Indian Law Section of the State Bar. Mr. Jarrett is serving his second term as an elected board member of the Bar’s Employment and Labor Section and is currently Chair-elect. Mr. Jarrett also serves as liaison to the annual Tulane Multi-State Labor and Employment Seminar. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of New Mexico.
Mr. Jarrett is active in the Association of Commerce and Industry, currently serving as the Chair of the Workplace Issues Committee. He is a nationally certified youth football coach and youth baseball umpire and currently serves as Board Secretary and as counsel for the New Mexico Young American Football League. He formerly served as Judge Advocate for the Great Southwest District of Civitan International.
