Nora R. Kaitfors is an Associate in the Minneapolis, Minnesota office of Jackson Lewis LLP.

Ms. Kaitfors practices in a variety of employment litigation matters, including drug testing law, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour claims, wrongful termination, retaliation, FMLA, ADA, and employment compliance matters.  Ms. Kaitfors also assists clients in obtaining resolution of disputes through mediation, both private and with various administrative agencies.  Ms. Kaitfors also provides training for clients on a variety of topics including the FMLA, ADAA, discrimination, harassment and wage and hour compliance. 

Ms. Kaitfors is admitted to practice in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota. 

Education and Experience
Ms. Kaitfors received a Bachelor of Science magna cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, and her Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law magna cum laude.  As a certified student attorney, Ms. Kaitfors represented numerous indigent claimants at EEOC mediations.  Prior to law school, Ms. Kaitfors had an internship in Washington D.C. with Minnesota Congressman James Oberstar (MN-08).  Following her internship, she worked in Congressman John Olver’s (MA-01) Washington D.C. office as a Legislative Assistant.  As a Legislative Assistant Ms. Kaitfors tracked and worked closely in drafting legislation on various issues including labor and employment and health care. 

Awards and Accomplishments
Ms. Kaitfors was awarded a certificate in health law from the Hamline Health Law Institute.  This certificate is awarded to students who complete a specialized health law and policy curriculum and demonstrate an enhanced commitment to practicing in this area of the law.  Ms. Kaitfors also served as an associate on the Hamline Journal of Law and Policy and was active in Hamline’s National Moot Court Competition. 

Publications and Presentations
Ms. Kaitfors is the co-author of the article, Diagnosing Employment Law Issues in Health Care Industry, found in the May 2009 issue of The Hennepin Lawyer. 

Groups and Associations
Ms. Kaitfors is a member of the Minnesota State and Hennepin County Bar Associations, and Minnesota Women Lawyers.  While attending the University of Wisconsin Green Bay, Ms. Kaitfors was an NCAA - Division I athlete with the University’s women soccer program.
