Alyson J. Guyan is an Associate in the Washington, D.C. Region office of Jackson Lewis P.C.
Ms. Guyan represents corporations and other entities in a wide variety of employment, safety and health, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour matters. She advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment law matters arising under federal and state law, including claims based on the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Ms. Guyan assists clients with workplace investigations involving allegations of discrimination and retaliation. She also works on administrative matters before the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, as well as state agencies.
Ms. Guyan is a member of the firm’s Workplace Safety Compliance Practice Group and has extensive experience advising clients regarding workplace safety and health matters. Ms. Guyan provides OSHA inspection counseling and safety and health compliance counseling. She also conducts safety and health compliance audits and reviews and revises corporate safety and health policies.
As a member of the Collegiate and Professional Sports Industry Group, Ms. Guyan counsels colleges and universities on NCAA and Title IX compliance matters. In addition, she provides guidance to clients on the requirements of athlete-agent laws and regulations.
Ms. Guyan is a member of the Virginia Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, and the United States District Courts for the District of Columbia and the Eastern District of Virginia. She is active in numerous professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, the Virginia Bar Association, the D.C. Bar Association and the Sports Lawyers Association,
Ms. Guyan earned her J.D. and M.B.A. from the George Washington University in 2005. She received her B.A. in psychology from Emory University in 2001.
