Biography

Punam Sarad is a Shareholder in the San Francisco, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Ms. Sarad has significant experience in advising employers on all aspects of employment law. Her practice primarily involves employment litigation and she has successfully argued motions and settled employment discrimination cases.

Ms. Sarad also has experience with California wage and hour law. She has successfully defended claims at hearing in front of the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement and settled numerous matters at conferences with the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.

The majority of Ms. Sarad’s wage and hour work involves class action litigation. She works independently in all phases of class action litigation. She has negotiated settlements of class actions, has successfully defeated a motion to compel a class list and succeeded on a motion to compel arbitration of a class action as a single plaintiff action. In addition to attending hearings and conferences at the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement and working on class action litigation, Ms. Sarad has also worked on in-depth wage and hour audits.

While attending law school, she served as the Symposium Editor on the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly. She also earned an Honorable Mention for Oral Advocacy in her Moot Court Class.
