Matthew Isaac is an associate in the Los Angeles, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice focuses on representing employers in all facets of employment litigation, preventative advice and counseling, and white collar and government enforcement. Matthew is a member of the Los Angeles’ office Hiring Committee.

Matthew leverages his litigation and trial experience to add value to trial teams who defend employers in state and federal court. Matthew has first chaired 10 jury trials to verdict and 1 bench trials to judgment, and also second chaired 2 jury trials to verdict and 1 bench trial to judgment in both state and federal court. He also represents clients in contentious motion hearings.

In addition, Matthew defends employers in employment class action cases with an emphasis on complex wage and hour claims, and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) representative matters. He also represents employers in the defense of single-plaintiff employment disputes, including claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblowing, wrongful termination, and wage and hour violations.

Further, Matthew served as an assistant United States attorney for the United States Department of Justice for the Southern District of Texas. During his two-year tenure as a federal prosecutor, he prosecuted a wide range of crimes, including money laundering, bank and wire fraud, public corruption, consumer fraud, drug trafficking and importation, assault, and felony murder. He also regularly advised federal agents on how to proceed with complex and large-scale criminal investigations. Matthew started his career as a state prosecutor.

Prior to his career as a lawyer, Matthew served as a certified mediator.
