Join Jackson Lewis P.C. and the North Jersey-Rockland Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management for a breakfast seminar to discuss recent labor and employment issues including:

  • The DOL’s proposed “White Collar” exemptions
  • Transgender issues in the workplace
  • What you need to know about credit and criminal background checks
  • What’s new at the National Labor Relations Board
  • Winning at Unemployment Hearings
  • The Upsurge in Class Action Wage-Hour Lawsuits

It has been a challenging year. Wage-hour issues and class action lawsuits continue to abound.  Transgender issues are increasingly arising at work.  Also, employers are increasingly being called to task by State human rights agencies regarding their use and misuse of arrest and conviction information.  And, finally, “Quickie Elections” are upon us.  Therefore the Rockland Business Association has again joined forces with the national workplace law firm of Jackson Lewis to present a “hands-on” seminar on these and other significant labor and employment issues.

What makes this seminar so different?  As those who have attended past conferences can attest, attendees will be given step-by-step guidance on how to identify their organizations’ legal vulnerability and potential liability.  In addition, our speakers will focus on the most proven “preventative” practices available to avoid litigation and employee relations problems.  Questions will be entertained and speakers will be available during both breaks and lunch to discuss your individual concerns.  Again this year, time will be set aside at the end of the program to answer any questions you may have on these or other topics.
