Join attorneys from Jackson Lewis' Cleveland Office for a half day of interactive discussion and practical solutions addressing the latest developments in workplace law. The program is designed for corporate counsel, human resources professionals, managers with supervisory or human resources responsibilities and business owners.

Session topics include:

The Activist NLRB Goes To Work On Employers
The National Labor Relations Board has had yet another year filled with decisions and rules changes adversely affecting both union and non-union employers.  The past year we have witnessed new "Quickie" union election rules designed to undercut employer campaigns, a redefining of joint employer status, the opening of employer email systems to union campaigns, and many more changes from the current Board.  Employers desiring to stay union-free need to understand how these new changes will affect their workplaces.

FMLA and ADA Case Law Update
Go beyond the theoretical with our presenters as they review actual recent case scenarios under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act and describe how they were resolved by the federal courts.  The session will provide you with valuable guidance on the thorniest leave and accommodation issues facing employers today.

Top Human Resource Strategies To Reduce Liability
In this session you will learn about multiple ways to reduce your organization's potential exposure to liability to employment law claims, including alternate dispute resolution programs, effective use of employment practices liability insurance, jury trial waivers, statute of limitation waivers, and much more. Our panel will also discuss compliance tips for the proposed new changes to the FLSA exemption tests. This is a session your business cannot afford to miss!

LGBT Civil Rights Developments and Their Impact on the Workplace
Our presenters will address the impact of the U.S. Supreme Court's recent same-sex marriage decision in Obergefell et al. v. Hodges on employer-sponsored employee benefits plans, including spousal coverage, retirement benefits, coverage for adopted children, and many more issues.  The session will also address the growing number of LGBT discrimination cases being litigated as sex discrimination lawsuits, and recent developments in transgender workplace accommodation issues.

Attendees are invited to join us after the educational sessions for a buffet lunch.
