Senate Bill 1299 directs the Cal/osha Standards Board to require employers with health care facilities to create and implement strict workplace violence prevention plans specific for each facility.  Cal/osha’s proposed regulation covers, among other health care employers, general acute care hospitals, acute psychiatric hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, intermediate care facilities, correctional treatment centers, nursing facilities, and hospice facilities.  Our panel will discuss how employers can create an appropriate plan that suits the organization’s needs and how to ensure that your employees are adequately trained to avoid workplace violence situations
