Today, the United States Department of Labor issued its long-awaited Final Rule updating the exemptions for executive, administrative, and professional employees (the “white collar” exemptions). DOL announced the Final Rule increases the standard salary level for exempt employees from $455 per week ($23,660) to $913 per week ($47,476), provides for automatic increases every three years, and provides other amendments to the regulations regarding use of incentive compensation to satisfy the salary level.  The Final Rule comes over two years after President Obama issued a Presidential Memorandum directing the DOL to propose revisions to modernize and streamline the overtime regulations and over one year after the Proposed Rule was published in the Federal Register on July 6, 2015.

Jackson Lewis attorneys Paul DeCamp, Former Administrator of the United States Department of Labor Wage & Hour Division; Jeffrey Brecher, Chair of the Jackson Lewis Wage & Hour Practice Group; and Doug Hoffman, a senior Wage & Hour litigator, will conduct a webinar to explain the changes set forth in the Final Rule, including the effective date for compliance, explain potential challenges to its implementation, and identify strategies for compliance.  Please join us on May 23, 2016 at 11:30 EST  for this complimentary webinar.
