Georgia Restaurant Association Seminar: Sexual Harassment Compliance

Past Event Detail

February 6, 2018
2:00 PM - 3:30 PM EST
270 Peachtree Street NW
1st Floor Conference Room
Atlanta, GA 30303

In 1986, the U.S. Supreme Court first recognized sexual harassment as a form of discrimination on the basis of sex. Now, more than 30 years later, claims of sexual harassment in the workplace are occurring on a daily basis. Now is the time for all employers to remain vigilant about sexual harassment compliance and about protecting their employees.

In this seminar, Tracie Johnson Maurer will address the following topics, among others:

  • The history of the “speak-out” evolution, and why the end is not in sight.
  • How high-profile cases have become a game-changer for the restaurant business.
  • The law of sexual harassment and how to best assess conduct which falls in the “grey area.”
  • The unique consequences of handling a sexual harassment case in the restaurant industry.
  • The keys to avoiding liability – in advance of a complaint being raised or a lawsuit being filed.

This event is complimentary and is only open for restaurant owners and operators.  Please register here with the Georgia Restaurant Association in advance of the seminar.
