The final regulations for Executive Order 13706 (“Paid Sick Leave for Workers on Federal Contracts”) were published September 30, 2016.  Under the Executive Order and final regulations, paid sick leave obligations will begin with new solicitations and contracts beginning January 1, 2017.  Spend an hour with us learning how these regulations impact your organization and how to prepare for compliance in the 3 months you’ve been given.

The following pressing issues will be covered:

  • Are you a covered contractor?
  • What employees are covered?
  • How does it work?
    • What are the accrual, use, carryover, recordkeeping and other requirements of paid sick leave under the final regulations?
  • How do you make it work with all of your other policies and obligations?
    • How do these new regulations interplay with and affect the Service Contract Act and Davis Bacon-Act requirements?
    • Does your current CBA or existing PTO policy cover your obligations?
    • What about all of your other state and local paid sick leave obligations?
  • What needs to be in your policy?
  • What actions are prohibited?
