Massachusetts has become the latest in a long line of states to take action in the fight to close the pay gap.  On August 1, 2016, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker signed into law an act requiring employers to pay men and women the same wage for “comparable work.”  Touted as one of the strongest pay equity laws, if not the strongest, in the nation, the Massachusetts law greatly expands protections against gender-based discriminatory pay differences, prohibits employers from relying on or requesting salary history during the hiring process, and increases potential liability for employers.  Join us as for an in-depth review of the new Massachusetts pay equity act and what employers should consider doing now.
