Please join Jackson Lewis and Industrial UI Services for a joint two-hour program followed by cocktails. Our programs will include:

“Playing Ball Under The Trump, Cuomo and de Blasio Administrations”

Employers are facing a whole new ballgame when it comes to complying with new federal, state, and local initiatives. Join us for a discussion of heavy hitting topics affecting New York State and New York City employers. The lineup will include: NYC Salary History Bill; NYC Fair Chance Act;  NYC Earned Sick Time Act;  Rise in the NYS Minimum Wage; NYS Paid Family Leave Law;  NYS Gender Equality Legislation; What’s New At The NLRB, DOL, and EEOC; Federal Legislation On The Horizon; and Supreme Court Labor and Employment Law Cases.

“What’s New (And Exciting?) In The World of Unemployment Insurance”

Employers in New York State are facing new and challenging changes to the unemployment insurance system. Navigating and complying with these changes and restrictions can be difficult. Although the State is finally out from under the burdens imposed by the “MLC” class action suit, employers are still held to onerous time deadlines and specificity requirements that complicate claims processing and evidence presentation at hearings. Unprepared employers may be prohibited from presenting evidence at hearings, as Administrative Law Judges often refuse to accept documentation that was not provided timely when a claim was originally filed. Please join us for a discussion on how to  how to best prepare for these hearings and to explore the must-dos to maximize cost savings for your company.
