Employers of every size and in every industry face employment law challenges. These issues present risks and often divert management’s attention from other important business matters. Participants will learn about the latest legal developments from seasoned labor and employment lawyers and explore ways they may avoid liability by developing preventive strategies.

Politics in the Workplace

In the midst of a heated presidential election, employers should know how to respond when employees engage in political activity in the workplace or complain about other employees’ political activity.  Using real and hypothetical scenarios, our interactive discussion will explore how political activity and political speech in the workplace can implicate protections provided by federal and South Carolina law.  We will conclude with key takeaways and best practices for managers addressing politics in the workplace.

Update on DOL Overtime Regulation and EEOC Pay Data Reporting Proposal

Our program will also include a brief update on the topics discussed during our March breakfast series by providing you with the latest information on the implementation of the DOL’s new overtime regulations and the EEOC’s pay data reporting proposal.
