Compliance with immigration laws is essential in an era of heightened government enforcement efforts that specifically target employers. The number of I-9 inspections by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security grew from approximately 500 in 2008 to over 3,000 in 2012. During the same period, employers faced fines from about $500,000 to $13 million. For these reasons, employers must properly complete, maintain, and conduct audits of their Form I-9s and to make any necessary corrections to the forms. This 60 minute seminar will provide an overview of voluntary Form I-9 audits to assist employers with solutions to manage the immigration compliance process.

Pending approval of one recertification credit hour toward PHR and SPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) and one professional development credit through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
