Please join attorneys from the Birmingham Office of national employment law firm, Jackson Lewis P.C, for a special webinar series discussing practical solutions addressing the latest developments in workplace law.  Topics to be discussed in this first session include:

  • New World of White Collar Exemptions
In a 2014 speech, President Obama declared that the Department of Labor must “look for ways to modernize and simplify the [wage and hour] regulations while ensuring that the FLSA’s intended overtime provisions are fully implemented.”  In response, the DOL has issued proposed changes to, among other things, the “white collar” exemptions to the FLSA’s overtime rules.  This webinar will discuss these potentially historic changes and address strategies designed to minimize their impact.
  • Pregnancy in the Workplace: Recent Developments in the Law
Are you puzzled by your legal obligations to accommodate pregnant employees?  Last year the EEOC issued updated enforcement guidance regarding the Pregnancy Discrimination Act (PDA) and shortly thereafter the U.S. Supreme Court addressed the legal necessity of accommodating pregnant employees.  But did these pronouncements add clarity or confusion to the issue?  This webinar will analyze the impact of these developments and provide pragmatic advice for compliance.
