Jackson Lewis Recognized as Gold Standard Firm for 10th Consecutive Year by WILEF

NEW YORK, NY (July 15, 2021) Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce the firm has received the Gold Standard Certification by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) for the 10th consecutive year. The WILEF Gold Standard Certification is awarded to firms who have successfully demonstrated that women represent a meaningful percentage of their equity partners, are in the highest leadership positions, on governance and compensation committees, of their most highly compensated partners, and there is meaningful diversity among their women partners.

"At Jackson Lewis, diversity, equity and inclusion is an intentional commitment to ensuring the equitable hiring and promotion of the best legal talent in the country,” said Firm Chair Kevin G. Lauri. “Maintaining a diverse team of attorneys, including equity partners and leaders, has historically been at the forefront of the firm’s priorities thanks to former chairs including Patrick Vaccaro and Vincent A. Cino. Inclusion will continue to be a priority as we evolve. We thank Pat and Vinny for establishing our relationship with WILEF and for their commitment to ensuring equitable representation at the firm.”

To achieve WILEF Gold Standard Certification, law firms with 300 or more practicing attorneys in the U.S. must meet objective criteria concerning the number of women among equity partners, in firm leadership positions and in the ranks of their most highly compensated partners.

“Our commitment to the advancement of women is at the core of Jackson Lewis’ culture,” said Tanya A. Bovée, Hartford Office Managing Principal and member of the firm’s Board of Directors, where she serves as DEI Liaison. “Whether it’s equity principal, office managing principal, a member of our board of directors or a practice or industry group leaders, we are focused on empowering our attorneys to reach their potential.”

Jackson Lewis has been consistently recognized for its diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and its advancement of women attorneys. Over the past year, the firm appointed its first-ever Firm Managing Partner Samantha N. Hoffman, who oversees the day-to-day management of Jackson Lewis, including all aspects of the firm’s operations. Recently, the firm announced its participation in the Mansfield Rule 5.0 certification process, a standard by which law firms track and measure that they have affirmatively considered at least 30 percent women, lawyers from underrepresented racial/ethnic groups, lawyers with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ lawyers for top leadership roles, senior-level lateral hiring, promotions into the equity partnership, and participation in client pitch meetings. Additionally, the firm was named among the 50 Best Law Firms for Women by Seramount (formerly Working Mother Media), for its best practices in the recruitment, retention, promotion and development of women lawyers.
