Desireé H. Langley

Desireé H. Langley is an associate in the Washington, D.C. Region office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters and corporate diversity matters, including preventive advice and workplace training. She has a blend of complex and single plaintiff litigation and counseling experience, which enables her to assist clients navigating challenging employment law issues and disputes. Desiree also leads complicated workplace investigations.

Desireé focuses her on representing employers in cases filed in both federal and state courts, as well as equal opportunity employment matters pending before federal and state administrative agencies. Desireé defends claims involving discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, breach of contract issues, and other matters. She is involved in every step of the litigation process, from conducting initial fact investigations and being thoughtful about discovery through conducting and defending depositions, preparing dispositive motions, and trial. Desireé’s enthusiastic and proactive approach seeks to help clients feel at ease throughout the entire process.

In addition to her litigation practice, Desireé partners with her clients to advise on various legal questions and engage in preventive counseling. She provides workplace training and conducts internal investigations for clients covering discrimination, harassment, and other instances of alleged misconduct. She also advises clients on practices to enhance corporate diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, while complying with federal, state, and local antidiscrimination laws.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Desireé worked for a boutique, D.C. based civil rights litigation firm and as an assistant public defender at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender. While attending law school, Desireé led the Black Law Student Association and the Trial Advocacy Association, advancing in multiple mock trial competitions. She also received the Pro Bono Award for her extraordinary commitment to voluntary legal service.
