Kristen N. Silverman-Hunter is an Associate in the San Diego, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Silverman-Hunter practiced labor and employment law in Los Angeles and San Diego.

Ms. Silverman-Hunter’s practice focuses on representing employers in all aspects of state and federal employment litigation, including wage and hour class and representative actions, single plaintiff wage and hour disputes, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination and retaliation. She also regularly counsels employers on a broad spectrum of complex employment matters, including reasonable accommodation, the interactive process, leaves of absence, employee discipline, terminations, and wage and hour issues. Ms. Silverman-Hunter also assists employers in drafting comprehensive employee handbooks, personnel policies, and employment-related agreements to ensure compliance with California and federal law. In addition, she conducts workplace investigations and management trainings on a wide array of employment law matters.

Prior to practicing law, Ms. Silverman-Hunter was in management for a multi-million dollar clothing company, where she gained an insider’s knowledge of employee issues, operations issues, and team development.

While in law school, Ms. Silverman-Hunter was a member of the San Diego International Law Journal, the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and La Raza Law Students Association. Prior to law school, Ms. Silverman-Hunter attended the University of California, Irvine, School of Social Sciences, where she studied political science and sociology, was a Scholarship Track and Field Athlete earning academic honors and graduated in the top 15 percent of her class.
