Lindsey L. Poling

Biography

Lindsey Poling is a principal in the Overland Park and Kansas City offices of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice is focused on employment litigation in state and federal court as well as representing her clients before administrative agencies.

Lindsey represents employers in all matters concerning the employment relationship including civil rights, reductions in force and wage and hour issues. Along with defense of claims brought by individuals, Lindsey has been involved in the defense of collective and class action claims.

Lindsey has a passion for providing advice and counsel to employers on all aspects of employment and Human Resource law, including investigating and responding to internal employee complaints, managing leave requests, discipline and performance management, policy review and development, employee training, and the array of emerging issues resulting from the COVID-19 global pandemic.  

In addition to her substantial experience in private practice, Lindsey also practiced as the sole in-house legal advisor to a national mortgage lending institution where she developed expertise in  the development and review of compensation agreements for mortgage loan originators to ensure compliance with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau’s Loan Originator Compensation rules.  Lindsey continues to provide assistance to financial institutions with review of compensation agreements for loan originators, processors and other mortgage lending staff.   

Lindsey grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and began working as a restaurant hostess at age 15.  She continued to work in the restaurant and service industries through college and law school. Lindsey’s time in the restaurant industry provides her with a unique perspective and deep understanding of the daily challenges faced by restaurant and service industry employers.  

After graduating from the University of Kansas School Law, Lindsey moved to Prairie Village, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City, where she resides today with her husband, and two young children.
