Meredith F. Bergeson

Biography

Meredith Fleming Bergeson is an associate in the Washington, D.C. Region office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on employment litigation, counseling, and diversity performance. 

Meredith regularly represents employers in matters involving all types of employment claims, including discrimination and tort claims, in federal and state courts and before federal, state, and local administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Department of Labor. She has represented clients in the successful defense of appellate matters before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the Supreme Court of Virginia. Meredith has also participated in comprehensive diversity assessments of major corporations in all types of diversity and inclusion policies, programs, and initiatives.   

During law school, Meredith worked in the Employment Litigation Section of the Virginia Office of the attorney general and at the Virginia Employment Commission. Meredith was an articles and comments editor for the University of Richmond Law Review and also served as the treasurer for the University of Richmond’s Trial Advocacy Board. Meredith received the ABA/BNA Award for Labor and Employment Law and finished as a semifinalist in the ABA Labor and Employment Law Trial Advocacy Regional Competition in Washington, D.C. At James Madison, Meredith received the Management Department’s Faculty Award for Excellence.

Prior to law school, Meredith was a human resources intern at LandAmerica Financial Group. She is the recipient of a Girl Scout Gold Award.
