Pooja Bhutani

Pooja Bhutani is an associate in the Monmouth County, New Jersey, office of Jackson Lewis, P.C. She exclusively represents employers and management in all areas of employment law, including employment litigation and counseling.  

Pooja regularly litigates matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claims in state and federal court, as well as before various administrative agencies. Pooja has experience representing employers and management in court proceedings, depositions, administrative hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and arbitrations. She has also played an active role in several employment trials in state and federal court.

In addition to litigation, Pooja routinely advises employers regarding day-to-day employment issues, such as personnel actions, compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and litigation avoidance. Pooja has also conducted numerous internal investigations, workplace trainings, and assisted employers in wage and hour audits and in developing workplace policies. 

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Pooja had a wide range of employment law experience dating back to her years as an undergraduate student at Rutgers University. While in law school at Hofstra University, Maurice A. Deane School of Law, Pooja was the president of the Labor & Employment Law Society and received the Jonathan Falk Memorial Scholarship which is awarded to students who exhibit academic excellence, leadership, a concern for peers, and an interest in Labor and Employment law. Throughout law school and following her admission to the bar, Pooja worked at a plaintiffs’-side employment law firm located in New York. She leverages her extensive and multi-faceted background in her current role to strategically analyze employment disputes and provide practical, cost-effective solutions to employers of all sizes.
