Todd H. Girshon has devoted his entire professional career, comprising over 30 years, to practicing workplace law at Jackson Lewis.

Since joining our New York City office, Todd has maintained an active “in-the-trenches” litigation practice, representing employers throughout the country before federal, state and local government agencies and courts in jury trials, bench trials, appeals, arbitrations, mediations and other proceedings. He has successfully defended individual and class/collective actions alleging discrimination, retaliation, harassment, whistleblower, failure to pay compensation and employee benefits, wrongful termination, breach of contract, tort, restrictive covenant, trade secret, unfair competition and other employment-related claims. He assists clients with preventive workplace law matters, investigations, and the design and implementation of human resources policies and practices. Todd also provides advice and counsel on day-to-day workplace law issues to help employers effectively manage their workforces.

Todd is a business-oriented attorney who partners with clients to understand and internalize their commercial objectives, risk tolerances, and problem-solving approaches. His practical, entrepreneurial approach has enabled him to serve as a trusted advisor to clients of all sizes—from start-ups to large national and global companies. In addition to his litigation and counseling work, Todd serves as relationship manager for a number of national and multinational firm clients.

As a member of our formal industry groups dedicated to financial services, manufacturing, real estate, retail, and hospitality, Todd is positioned to provide advice tailored to the workplace issues unique to those sectors. Over the course of his career, he has also worked with employers in a variety of other industries, including insurance, fashion, healthcare, private equity, transportation, professional services, non-profit, sports, education, PEO and staffing.

Todd’s ability to deliver the best of Jackson Lewis to clients has been informed and enhanced by the variety of roles he has taken on within the firm. From 2011-13, Todd was elected to serve as the marketing coordinator for the firm's New York City office. He has also served on various committees over the years, including the firm’s partnership admissions committee, and is involved with L&E Global, an international alliance providing counsel to employers on workplace law. From 2016-18, Todd was elected to the firm’s Advisory Committee, which advises the chairperson and the Board of Directors on major issues affecting the firm, including strategic, operational, and financial matters. For 2020-21, he was re-elected to serve another 2-year term on the Advisory Committee.
