The Michigan Court of Claims' recent Mothering Justice decision repealed the current versions of the Improved Workforce Opportunity Wage Act and Paid Medical Leave Act based on a constitutional question in how these Acts were approved by the state legislature in 2018. In February 2023, the Acts will be replaced and will render many employers non-compliant with previous state regulations. Jackson Lewis P.C. attorneys will highlight major potential changes in workplace policies, such as paid sick leave, the elimination of the tip credit, and increasing the minimum wage.
