James Carter Joins Jackson Lewis in Orange County

Carter has joined the firm’s Orange County office as a Principal. Mr. Carter, who was previously a partner in Paul Hastings’ employment department, has considerable experience counseling and defending companies in all aspects of employment law.

Mr. Carter, who has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America© since 2009 and was recently named the publication’s 2015 Orange County Employment Law – Management “Lawyer of the Year,” regularly represents employers in matters including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, wage and hour claims, class action cases, breach of contract claims, disability accommodation, leaves of absence and workers' compensation issues. Mr. Carter represents clients in many industries including financial, bio-tech, restaurant and food, aerospace, high-tech, property management, and insurance, and is a frequent speaker to management and human resource groups regarding employment and workers’ compensation issues.
Mr. Carter received his B.A. in English from Brigham Young University and his J.D. from Brigham Young’s Reuben Clark Law School. He is an Advisory Board Member of the Alzheimer’s Association of Orange County; Board Member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, Orange County Chapter, and past Section Chair of the Labor and Employment Section of the Orange County Bar Association.
