Chelsey E. Barkley is an associate in the San Diego, California office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including preventive advice and counseling.

Chelsey previously served as a legal extern for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, assisting with research on employment discrimination and distinct constitutional law issues involving due process, equal protection, and First Amendment retaliation. She also served as a legal extern for the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, researching and drafting memoranda on the Americans with Disabilities Act, Federal Tort Claims Act, and patent infringement.

In law school, Chelsey earned the Justice Anthony Kennedy Scholarship, the school’s highest merit scholarship, and the Trustees’ Scholarship, which is awarded to one student in each graduating class for academic excellence, legal scholarship, leadership, and service. She was also the editor-in-chief for the California Western Law Review and graduated first in her law school class.
