Connie L. Chen
Connie L. Chen is a principal in the Los Angeles, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. and is a co-leader of Jackson Lewis' Asian American resource group. Connie’s practice focuses on representing employers in all types of employment-related litigation in state and federal courts and in arbitration.
Connie has broad experience litigating single plaintiff and class action cases involving wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and related claims. She assists employers in a variety of industries, including restaurant, hospitality, retail, manufacturing, construction, health care, transportation, and nonprofit.
In addition, Connie defends employers against wage and hour claims before the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE), and charges of discrimination before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB), the California Civil Rights Department, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). She also routinely provides preventative counseling to employers on policies and practices governing day-to-day workplace issues, including wage and hour compliance, employee handbooks, requests for leave, disability accommodation, employee discipline, layoffs, and terminations.
Before joining Jackson Lewis, Connie was an employment law associate at a national full-service law firm. While attending law school, she served as production editor of the Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Law Journal.
