Orlando J. Arellano is an associate in the Los Angeles, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. 

A seasoned litigator, Orlando defends employers in a broad range of employment matters, including wage and hour claims, wrongful termination, discrimination and harassment claims. Since obtaining his bar license, he has specialized in class action and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) litigation, having worked on both sides of the bar. Orlando has been involved in many significant employment decisions including:

  • Brown v. Ralphs Grocery Co., 197 Cal.App.4th (2011) relating to class action waivers in
    arbitration agreements
  • Iskanian v. CLS Transportation Los Angeles, LLC, 206 Cal.App.4th 949 (2012) relating to the arbitrability of PAGA claims.

Orlando has successfully appealed adverse arbitration decisions in both State and Federal Court and has successfully obtained preemptive de-certification of class actions and summary judgment for various clients.

Orlando likewise has trial experience, including recently trying a PAGA action to a verdict substantially below the Plaintiffs’ “last and final” demand. He has represented employers of all sizes including family-owned restaurants to large multi-national corporations.
