Jackson Lewis Named A "Top BigLaw Firm for Female Attorneys"

WHITE PLAINS, NY (April 22, 2016) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce the firm ranked 2nd in Law 360’s list of the “Top 10 Biglaw Firms for Female Attorneys” and 18th in the publication’s list of the “100 Best Law Firms for Female Attorneys,” based on the firm’s female representation at the partner and non-partner levels and total number of female lawyers.  The rankings, which are part of Law 360’s 2016 Glass Ceiling report, are based on headcount surveys of more than 300 law firms with a United States presence.

“We have long considered ourselves to be at the forefront of fostering the promotion of women in the legal profession, and I am proud to see our efforts to give all of our talented attorneys the opportunity to shine acknowledged by Law 360,” said Firm Chairman Vincent A. Cino.

The achievement of women within our firm has been a key to Jackson Lewis’ growth and success over the years, and it is a direct result of our firm-wide inclusive mindset,” said Samantha N. Hoffman, member of the firm’s 10-person Board of Directors, Office Managing Principal in Jackson Lewis’ Orange County office and co-Chair of the firm’s Women’s Interest Network resource group.  “We recognize that the promotion of women and diverse attorneys starts from the top of an organization down, and it takes those in leadership positions to recognize talent and reward it with opportunity.”

“We tell our clients every day that a diverse workforce is a better workforce, and we practice what we preach,” added Hoffman. “Right now 36% of our Office Managing Principals and 25% of our Practice Group Leaders are women, and we expect these numbers to grow.”

“We share our clients' goals to emphasize diversity, inclusion, integrity, and respect for the contribution of every employee, and remain committed to removing professional barriers and creating new opportunities that allow our female attorneys to advance within our firm,” added Washington, D.C. Region Principal Weldon H. Latham, Chair of the Jackson Lewis Diversity Committee and Practice Leader of the firm’s Corporate Diversity Counseling Group.  “Our Women’s Interest Network has been an inspiration to all our Attorney Resource Groups and the firm’s outreach and marketing efforts in general.”
