Omaha Partner Amy Peck Elected to Serve on AILA's Board of Governors

OMAHA, NE (July 5, 2012) - Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, congratulates Omaha Partner Amy L. Peck for being one of 21 directors elected to serve on the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s (AILA’s) Board of Governors.  Ms. Peck, recently named the Best Lawyers’ 2012 Omaha Immigration Law Lawyer of the Year, dedicates her practice exclusively to immigration law.

As an Elected Director of the AILA, a national association of over 11,000 attorneys and law professors who practice and teach immigration law, Ms. Peck will help set the general policies of the Association, which includes providing financial oversight, setting annual goals and monitoring Association accomplishments.  This is Ms. Peck’s second term on the Board of Governors and only one of her many positions in the AILA.  She has served as Chair of the AILA Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICS) Committee, on the AILA Interagency Committee, the Annual Conference Committee as well as chairs the AILA FOIA Liaison Committee and the AILA Comprehensive Reform Committee.  

Ms. Peck is a frequently requested speaker and has been quoted in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal.  She regularly travels across the U.S. conducting training and internal I-9 audits, and consulting on compliance issues such as correct I-9 completion techniques and E-verify practices.

Ms. Peck, who has been AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell since 2010, is currently listed in the legal directory’s Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers.  In 2008, she received the President’s Award for Worksite Compliance.  In addition, she has been listed in the U.S. News “Best Lawyers” report since 2010, was named a “Top Lawyer” in Omaha Magazine in 2010 and 2011 and was selected by her peers as the “Best Lawyer for 2011” in the Annual Guide to Immigration Law featured in The American Lawyer.  

Ms. Peck is currently admitted to practice law in the States of Missouri, Iowa, and Nebraska as well as in the U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.  In 1984, Ms. Peck received her B.A. from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.  She earned her J.D. from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1987.
