Employers of every size and in every industry face employment law challenges. These issues present risks and often divert management’s attention from other important business matters. In these interactive sessions, participants will learn about the latest legal developments from seasoned labor and employment lawyers and explore ways they can avoid liability by developing preventive strategies.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse Issues in the Workplace
An employee seems increasingly unstable at work, crying frequently and appearing disoriented. You suspect a worker with spotty attendance may be abusing prescription drugs. An employee with PTSD occasionally exhibits excessive anger towards coworkers. An employee leaves work one day, threatening to harm himself/herself. Mental health and substance abuse issues are affecting the workplace in a variety of ways, and the federal and state laws that impact those situations can be daunting to master. Join us for an overview of the ADA, FMLA, and state and local leave laws that apply to mental health issues in the workplace, and to learn practical ways to navigate these situations with compliance, caution and care.
