The Age of Medical Marijuana: Top Ten Employer Drug Testing Mistakes

Most states in the U.S. now have laws permitting the use of medical marijuana, recreational marijuana, and cannabidiol (CBD) products. In the last two years, state and federal courts have made rulings protecting employees and applicants who use marijuana products. This year, new laws prohibiting pre-employment marijuana drug tests have passed in New York City and the State of Nevada. 

With these newly developed laws and court decisions, it is difficult for employers to know what is prohibited and what must be accommodated in the workplace, particularly for employers who conduct drug testing. This program will discuss the current state of marijuana laws in New York and around the country, and will provide practical advice for maintaining a drug-free workplace and conducting drug testing programs in accordance with applicable laws.
