Many companies extend employment offers to prospective foreign national employees who typically require visa sponsorship, unless otherwise authorized to accept unrestricted employment in the United States. In most cases, without sponsorship, the prospective foreign national employee would be unable to accept an offer of employment. There are a number of temporary visa options (nonimmigrant visas) available to companies, the most common of which are H-1Bs, L-1s and TNs. For long-term planning, a company may also sponsor a foreign national employee for permanent residence (green card or immigrant visa). Join Jackson Lewis P.C. attorneys as we discuss immigration in the workplace.
