Jackson Lewis' Long Island Office Honored for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness

MELVILLE, NY (June 11, 2013) – Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce its Long Island office has been named a winner of the 2013 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility for its exemplary workplace practices.

Bestowed by the Families and Work Institute and the Society for Human Resource Management, the Sloan award recognizes employers that have distinguished themselves in Long Island and across the country.  Winners are identified through a rigorous selection process, which involves an evaluation of employers’ flexibility programs and practices, including telecommuting, job sharing and phased retirement programs, as well as a confidential employee survey.

“After being named an Honorable Mention recipient of the Sloan award for the past two years, we could not be more thrilled to be recognized as winners this year,” said Christopher M. Valentino, Managing Partner of Jackson Lewis’ Long Island office.  “As a firm devoted to helping our clients develop preventive strategies and positive solutions for the workplace, we are proud to be honored for our programs and general culture of flexibility, and plan to continue to implement policies to increase workplace effectiveness and enhance the success of our business and employees.”

The Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility are part of the national When Work Works project, an ongoing initiative of the Families and Work Institute in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for a Competitive Workforce and the Twiga Foundation, with funding from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
