BALTIMORE, MD (October 2, 2012) –Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce the addition of three attorneys to its growing Baltimore office.  Laura A. “We are delighted to welcome Laura, Melanie and Louis to our growing Baltimore team,” said Richard Hafets, Managing Partner of the Baltimore office.  “Each of these attorneys has expertise that will enhance the value we provide to our clients, and their ties to the local business and legal communities are invaluable.  Our office’s growth has been driven by increasing demand for comprehensive labor and employment law services in the region, and we are pleased to be able to continuously attract and retain esteemed, knowledgeable attorneys as we continue to build upon our capabilities throughout Maryland.”

“I have long admired Jackson Lewis’ depth and breadth of experience in the field of workplace law,” said Pierson-Scheinberg.  “The firm’s national reach and collegiality of the Baltimore office were just two of the many qualities that attracted me to the firm.”

In her prior role at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland,  Melanie Glickson defended the United States government in a wide range of Title VII matters.  Ms. Glickson previously worked at Nixon Peabody LLP in Boston, Massachusetts, where she represented companies in employment disputes before government  agencies and in state and federal court.  She has experience representing employers in various types of employment litigation matters, including the defense of state, federal and agency claims of discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, whistleblowing, FMLA violations, ERISA and breach of contract.  In addition, Ms. Glickson has drafted employee handbooks and agreements as well as severance, settlement and non-compete agreements.

Ms. Glickson is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, New Jersey, U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and Rhode Island.  She received her B.A. from Harvard University and her J.D. from the Boston University School of Law, where she received the Best Oralist Award in the Craven National Moot Court Competition.
