Jackson Lewis Thanks Trevor Project Volunteers

New York, NY (June 22, 2020) As part of Jackson Lewis P.C.’s month-long Pride month celebration, attorneys and staff recently participated in The Trevor Project’s Thank-a-Thon, a hands-on activity focused on recognizing the 500+ dedicated Crisis Services and Advocacy volunteers powering Trevor’s life-saving work.

The Trevor Project is the world's largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. Trevor’s mission to end suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people is carried out through providing 24/7 suicide prevention and crisis intervention services for LGBTQ youth and serving as a leading voice in education, advocacy, and research relating to LGBTQ youth and mental health.

On June 5, a Jackson Lewis team wrote personal messages of support to the Trevor volunteers to share their appreciation for their life-saving efforts and commitment to LGBTQ youth, and participated in a discussion to learn more about Trevor’s mission, programs and ways to get involved. The Jackson Lewis Foundation also made a $10,000 contribution to the organization to solidify its commitment.

“At Jackson Lewis, inclusion is woven into the fabric of our firm. We support every individual and celebrate our differences. The Trevor Project’s mission is one that resonates deeply with us, and we are honored to play a part in thanking their volunteers who are changing lives every day,” said Jana Simon, Jackson Lewis’ Director of Diversity & Inclusion. “Now more than ever, it is important to do everything we can to ensure acceptance and equality for all, and we will continue to use our time, energy and financial resources to do what we can to make the firm and our society a better place.”

This is the second year in a row that the firm has supported The Trevor Project. Last year, in addition to offices joining their local Pride parades, volunteering with LGBTQ organizations, and hosting office get-togethers, Jackson Lewis raised over $55,000 towards The Trevor Project.
