Matthew E. Kreiser

Matthew E. Kreiser is an associate in the Washington, D.C. Region office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Matt is an experienced employment litigation attorney who represents businesses and government contractors in a wide range of complex employment and commercial disputes. He regularly represents clients in federal and state court actions, appeals, arbitration proceedings, and before administrative agencies in disputes involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, breach of fiduciary duties, post-employment restrictions, trade secret misappropriation, whistleblower retaliation, and other workplace-related claims.

Matt also counsels employers on all aspects of the employment relationship, including hiring and termination decisions, employment agreements, workplace policies and procedures, internal investigations, wage-and-hour compliance, restrictive covenants, accommodations and leaves of absence, and other day-to-day personnel matters. Matt works closely with executives, in-house counsel, and human resources professionals to identify potential risks and develop practical strategies to further business objectives. Drawing on his litigation experience, Matt helps employers assess potential exposure and address workplace issues before they develop into larger disputes.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Matt held a number of positions in public policy development, analysis, and advocacy. Matt’s unique background informs his approach to disputes, especially in matters involving complex litigation or issues of first impression. This perspective allows Matt to develop arguments that address both immediate legal issue and the broader principles that guide courts when established authority provides no clear answer.

Matt prides himself on developing long-lasting relationships with his clients and understanding the considerations that drive their decisions. He recognizes that no two clients, or disputes, are the same and tailors his advice and litigation strategies to each client’s individual needs.

Outside of work, Matt is an accomplished golfer and enjoys spending time with his wife, travelling the world together with their dog, Winnie. He also volunteers his time to support individuals with developmental disabilities, including through his involvement with Special Olympics.

Matt earned his J.D., Magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif, served as Vice President of the Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court Board, and served as Executive Research Editor of the Psychology, Public Policy and Law Journal. A proud Buckeye, he earned his B.A. in Political Science, with a minor in General Business, from The Ohio State University.
