Tim Doolin is an associate in the New Orleans, Louisiana, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He is a member of the firm’s ERISA Complex Litigation group, where his daily practices involves advising employers on how to manage this intricate area of law, providing crucial guidance as to fiduciary practices and litigation avoidance to deal with these potential and significant risks.

Tim defends employers, fiduciaries, plan sponsors and other defendants in complex class action and individual plaintiff ERISA matters. He also provides proactive advice and counseling for employers in ERISA workplace law matters, including their responsibilities as plan fiduciaries, managing plan assets, selecting service providers, and making prudent investment decisions. Tim understands that well-constructed and compliant benefits plans can foster employee satisfaction while minimizing employer litigation risk.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Tim gained valuable experience in law and litigation by serving as a clerk for both federal and state judges including the Honorable United States District Judge Robert James in the Western District of Louisiana, the Honorable United States Magistrate Judge Erica Grosjean of the Eastern District of California and Justice Pro Tempore James Boddie of the Louisiana Supreme Court. Tim also served as a staff attorney for the Northern District of Texas in Dallas, where he assisted United States Magistrate Judges and United States District Judges with a variety of pro se cases, as well as counseled habeas corpus matters. Tim's clerking experience provided him with unique insight into effective and persuasive legal writing and strategy that he now leverages to further defendant positions in complex ERISA class action matters.
