SACRAMENTO, CA (December 22, 2025) — Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Erika Barbara has rejoined the firm as a principal in its Sacramento office. She returns from the California Chamber of Commerce (CalChamber), where she served as senior employment law counsel. Erika has more than 20 years of experience assisting employers in navigating the complexities of California’s workplace laws.
“We’re thrilled to have Erika back at the firm,” said Carolyn G. Burnette, Sacramento office managing principal. “She brings a grounded, practical approach to helping employers navigate California’s workplace issues, and our clients will benefit immediately from her insight and experience.”
Erika focuses her practice on advising employers on day-to-day compliance issues, preventive strategies and California-specific workplace requirements. Her background includes counseling on wage and hour compliance, leave and accommodation obligations, policy development, performance management and workforce strategies tailored to California’s uniquely complex regulatory environment. She also draws upon her litigation experience, which includes matters involving harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour class actions, and PAGA claims, experience that enhances her ability to provide forward-looking, risk-mitigating counsel.
During her tenure at CalChamber, Erika supported employers statewide through the Labor Law Helpline, authored compliance publications, and delivered educational programs including seminars, webinars and training sessions.
Earlier this month, Principal Victoria L. Boesch also joined the Sacramento office from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California, where she served as Chief of the Civil Defense Unit.
Erika earned her J.D. from University of San Francisco School of Law and her B.A. from University of California, Santa Barbara.
The Sacramento office can be reached at (916) 341-0404.
