Alysa J. Wiggins
Alysa J. Wiggins is an associate in the Detroit, Michigan, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including preventive advice and counseling.
Alysa was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She has been passionate about labor and employment law since the beginning of her legal career. While attending law school, Alysa served as a legal intern for multiple entities, including DTE Energy Corporation’s Office of the General Counsel and the National Labor Relations Board, Region 7, where she developed a foundational understanding of a wide range of labor and employment laws.
A skilled legal writer, Alysa also served as an Article Editor for the Journal of Business Law. Two of Alysa’s published articles were selected for publication while she was a law student, one of which analyzes and advises whether a live streaming platform should classify its streamers as employees or independent contractors.
Alysa has received numerous accolades and awards throughout her legal career. Because of her overall commitment to labor and employment law, the National Labor Relations Board, Region 7, selected Alysa as its 28th Annual Bernard Gottfried Memorial Labor Law Symposium Scholar in 2023.
Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Alysa worked at a small firm practicing primarily employment litigation. Alysa has represented a broad range of clients in state and federal courts concerning all types of employment litigation, including but not limited to discrimination, whistleblower retaliation, and breach of contract claims. She is experienced with all stages of litigation, from commencement to resolution.
Having studied social relations and policy in college, Alysa also greatly understands and values relationships. Alysa works with clients to create workplace policies that allow both employees and businesses to thrive in unison. Alysa’s background provides her with a holistic perspective on legal issues, enabling her to approach matters creatively.
In her spare time, Alysa enjoys knitting, traveling, and spending time with her family.
