Marques Berrington

Marques Berrington is of counsel in the Denver, Colorado, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He practices primarily in the area of employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower, leave, and accommodation related claims in state and federal courts and administrative agencies.

Marques is a passionate litigation attorney. He is known for his diligent preparation and strategic approach, which has resulted in voluntary and court-ordered dismissals for his clients. He has handled a broad range of employment-related claims in state and federal courts and administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Colorado Civil Rights Division, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, the Illinois Department of Human Rights, the Illinois Labor Relations Board, and the United States Department of Labor.

Marques is equally passionate about helping employers successfully navigate risk. He understands that often the best results come from advice that successfully prevents legal action. Marques regularly advises employers on performance counseling, terminations, workplace investigations, leave and accommodation issues, and wage and hour compliance. He frequently conducts workplace trainings, and clients appreciate his ability to communicate complex legal issues in plain language.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Marques was an attorney at Colorado’s and Illinois’s largest public transportation agencies, where he focused on employment-related litigation, employer policies, workplace investigations, representation elections, collective bargaining, and assisted human resources in engaging with thousands of union represented and non-represented employees.

Upon graduating from law school, Marques served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Michael T. Mullen of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois.
