Andrea Alexander is the Knowledge Management Attorney in the Portland, Oregon, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Andrea brings a unique combination of in-house counsel experience, academic insight, and a commitment to legal information strategy to her role with a particular focus on designing systems and resources that enhance access to information and support efficient, high-quality legal work.
As the KMA for the firm’s industry groups, Andrea partners with attorneys across sectors to develop and maintain the knowledge assets that drive exceptional client service and support thought leadership that benefits all client organizations, no matter the unique issues they face. From research that facilitates horizon scanning and collaboration to curating model documents that ensure consistency, Andrea provides the firm’s legal teams with the information and insights they need to navigate complex workplace issues with confidence.
Before joining the firm, Andrea served as in-house counsel for a retail corporation, advising on a variety of business issues with a focus on labor and employment matters as well as data privacy. This practical, employer-side perspective informs her approach to knowledge management, grounded in real-world challenges and aligned with the needs of both attorneys and clients. Andrea’s background also includes work as a law librarian and law school faculty member, where she developed a passion for legal research, training, and outreach, bringing this passion to her collaborative efforts with attorneys.
