Bria M. Cochran is an associate in the Washington, D.C. Region office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including preventive advice and counseling and diversity and inclusion matters.

Bria has experience litigating in federal court, state court and before administrative agencies, while also appearing regularly at arbitrations and mediations. She has successfully handled cases involving claims of race, age, disability, and sex discrimination, as well as breach of contract, sexual harassment, retaliatory discharge, and wage-hour claims.

Along with her strong litigation experience, Bria also conducts sensitive workplace investigations. For example, Bria investigated allegations that the Chair of a Board of Directors was harassing the CEO of an organization.

Bria advises organizations in their efforts to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion. She is often called upon by clients to help them avoid or mitigate the expense of litigation by conducting corporate diversity assessments and training seminars on employment and diversity-related issues. She also assists companies with developing and implementing comprehensive diversity enhancement plans.

Before joining Jackson Lewis, Bria was an associate at an international law firm where she gained experience in all phases of litigation, representing a wide range of clients from start-ups to Fortune 50 companies. While attending law school, Bria served as an extern for The Hon. Chief Judge Anna Blackburne-Rigsby.
