Catherine Elizabeth Barton

Catherine (“Cate”) Elizabeth Barton is an associate in the Jacksonville, Florida, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including preventive advice and counseling.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Cate practiced at a local firm representing employers in litigation matters, drafting agreements, and advising on general legal compliance. She gained experience in handling general civil defense litigation in a wide variety of matters and uses this experience to assist employers in handling cases arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Florida Civil Rights Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and various other state and federal laws. Cate also assists employers in the handling matters with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and provides employers with a comprehensive view of employment decisions.
