Jump to:

Jawid Habib is of counsel in the San Diego, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Jawid represents and counsels employers across the full range of labor and employment matters, combining litigation experience with the practical business judgment gained from serving as in-house counsel.

Before returning to firm practice, Jawid spent more than four years in-house and as an independent advisor. Most recently, he served as global employment counsel at a high-growth legal technology company. That experience continues to shape his approach to client service: he delivers practical, actionable advice, frames legal risk in business terms, and helps employers address workplace issues before they become disputes.

Jawid advises employers across a range of industries on workforce management issues, employment disputes, and emerging workplace challenges involving artificial intelligence. Drawing on his in-house experience, he helped develop workplace policies, governance frameworks, and employment practices addressing the adoption and use of AI and other emerging technologies. He brings a practical understanding of the employment, privacy, and compliance considerations that arise when organizations deploy new technologies in the workplace, having worked closely with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to navigate those issues in a rapidly evolving environment.

Earlier in his career, Jawid practiced employment litigation at two leading national law firms and served as a law clerk to Judge Larry A. Burns of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California and Judge Louis Garcia of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Administrative Hearings Unit. These experiences continue to inform his approach to litigation, counseling, and agency practice.

Outside the office, Jawid enjoys travel, photography, and making memories with his three daughters.
